Maple is a dense suburban community that lies to the northwest of Toronto in York Region. This is technically an unincorporated area in the city of Vaughan and there are no specific population stats on this community. Maple was once a small village but over the years it grew outward. The Don River flows nearby as does the famous Black Creek. Maple enjoys a continental climate which is heavily influenced by warm, moist air masses that originate in the south and cold, dry air from the north. Summers can be hot and humid and winters can be cold, moist, and some years there is plenty of snow. Daytime average highs reach 26°C and there can be some heavy thunderstorms at times. Winter months tend to bring very cold temperatures with the daytime high averaging -1°.
There is plenty to keep yourself busy in and around Maple. Maple is best known as being home to Canada’s Wonderland, an amusement park that has everything you need to have a great time. In addition to some great golf courses in the area there is a driving range as well to work on your swing. There are other recreational activities to help keep active including plenty of parkland and trails to take a stroll along. Of course there is no shortage of great restaurants to explore and plenty of pubs, sports bars and nightclubs. Shopping opportunities are in abundance including a small selection of unique shops and of course plenty of shopping malls and box store shopping.
