Kleinburg is categorized as an unincorporated village in the city of Vaughan located northwest of Toronto in York Region. This quaint village is nestled in a hilly landscape situated between two branches of the Humber River and is right next to a main highway. Kleinburg has a humid continental climate and with Lake Ontario to the south this brings a modifying effect. Each season brings beauty to Kleinburg, population 4,595 (which includes surrounding areas). Summers can be quite hot and humid with daytime average highs reaching 26°C and there can be some heavy thunderstorms as well. Winter months tend to bring the area lots of snow and very cold temperatures with the daytime high averaging -1°.
This is not a village where there is a lot of action but there is plenty to keep busy. Many people know Kleinburg as the home for the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. This art gallery is renowned for collecting only Canadian work and they are home to almost 6,000 artworks of The Group of Seven, First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists. The building itself is incredible and there are a network of hiking trails that take you through breathtaking scenery. If hiking or taking a leisurely stroll is something you enjoy then you’ll want to check out the Kortright Centre for Conservation. There are incredible golf courses in the area if you want to maintain or improve your game. Take a stroll down Kleinburg’s Main Street and you’ll discover unique shopping boutiques, fine dining and an exquisite atmosphere you’ll not find anywhere else.
