Neighborhood Details

Brampton is a bustling suburban city located to the northwest of Toronto. In 2011, Brampton’s population was 523,911. Brampton sits on 266.71 km²; a city of this size means there is no shortage of things to see and do. A large arts and culture community provides a variety of places to explore. Many picturesque parks and rivers are not far off the busy roads so you can enjoy a quiet place to relax or go for a hike. There is no shortage of local businesses or shopping malls to peruse through and along with that a plethora of fine dining experiences await you as well as a vibrant nightlife.

Restaurants

Nine18 is an open concept restaurant in the Turnberry Golf Course clubhouse. It has a wrap-around covered and heated terrace overlooking the fairways, and a full-service bar and lounge.

Bucatini is a restaurant and win bar serving simple, authentic Italian cuisine like grilled polenta served with mushroom ragu and gorgonzola cheese, linguini di mare, Margherita pizza, veal Parmigiana and Tiramisu.

Terrace on the Green provides dining options in two wood paneled spaces reminiscent of nostalgic European eateries, the James Room and Izaack Room. The steakhouse and seafood restaurants both offer views of either the Hutton Valley or the lush grounds of venue.

Shopping / Retail

Shopper’s World Brampton is a shopping mall at Steeles and Hwy. 10. It is host to over 190 stores, including Canadian Tire, Winners and Staples.

Bramalea City Centre is a large shopping mall located in the east end of the city on Queen St. and Dixie Rd. With over a 1.5 million square feet of retail space and more than 300 outlets, it is one of Canada's largest shopping malls.

Entertainment

Brampton’s Rose Theatre is a cultural and tourist destination that hosts a series of public events and theatrical performances. It has a main performance hall with seating for 880, and a smaller multi-purpose hall with seating for up to 160. The theatre grounds have an outdoor open space that faces onto the historic Four Corners of downtown Brampton.

Attractions

Gage Park is a multi-functional park hosting many city events, including weekly concerts, Brampton Rotary Club’s Annual Rib n’ Roll, Classic Cars and Legendary Stars weekend. During winter, Gage Park’s circular paved path is turned into a public ice rink, spectacularly decorated as part of Brampton’s Tree Lighting celebration. It is located at the southwest corner of Main Street South and Wellington Street West.

Chingacousy Park is Brampton’s destination park with sport facilities include a curling facility, winterized tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, ski hill and new state of the art track and field, mini-putt golf, formal gardens and greenhouse, paddle boats, petting zoo and barn, splash pad and children’s playground, and BMX/skateboard park.

Eldorado Park is surrounded by natural forest on the banks of the Credit River. It features the City of Brampton’s only outdoor pool. Enjoy the natural scenic surroundings at one of the Park’s picnic areas, or lounge by the pool on one of their deck chairs. City of Brampton aquatic admittance policy and rates do apply.
