Langley is a municipality located southeast of Vancouver in the Fraser Valley, just south of the Fraser River. With a population of almost 140,000 Langley is a thriving urban centre that borders with Washington State to the south. Residential and commercial developments flourish yet Langley is best known for its swathes of rolling farmland with incredible views of the mountains to the north. Situated in a coastal temperate rainforest zone the average summer temperature is 16°C and -3°C in the winter months.
Langley has favourable microclimates which enables wineries to grow grapes that have produced award-winning wines. All Langley wineries are open to the public for tasting and the purchasing of wine. Visit historic and heritage sites such as the Fort Langley National Historic Site and there are local museums to enjoy as well. Langley’s equine industry is the largest in B.C. and horseback riding is an activity to consider. There are quality golf courses to enjoy, wildlife centres, and no shortage of unique boutiques and shops to enjoy browsing through. There is plenty of entertainment to partake in such as live sports, movie theatres, and Fraser Valley’s biggest casino. In addition to fine dining there are many pubs and bars to enjoy Langley’s nightlife.
