Wendel Clark’s Classic Grill & Bar Gives Burlington Upscale Game Night Meetup
Former Toronto Maple Leaf captain Wendel Clark has spent the past several years of his hockey retirement scoring big points in the restaurant industry. Wendel Clark’s Classic Grill & Bar officially opened in Burlington on June 10, 2013, adding to his first eatery in Vaughn. More recently, he opened a location in downtown Hamilton, giving him the hat trick.
Local hockey fans are thrilled to see the hockey superstar investing in the community. It also gives them an upscale option for grabbing a beer and a bite to eat while watching the game with some friends. In his own way, the hockey legend is still doing his part to keep the spirit and passion of the game alive and strong.
The appetizer line-up is deep, perfect for sharing and variety over three periods. The Hat Trick Platter features a trio of dips: guacamole, salsa, and smoked chicken jalapeno dip served with tri-coloured nachos and wonton chips for $13.99. The Wendel Clark Sliders are sirloin sliders with bacon, cheddar cheese and onion rings for $10.99. Traditional Poutine, Deep Fried Pickles, Nachos, Coconut Shrimp and Wings are just some of the other fan favourites being served up.
If you aren’t into sharing, there are six burgers and seven sandwiches, including the Wendel Burger, a full-size version of the same slider dish bearing his name. The Korean Steak Sandwich is made with shaved beef, sautéed carrots, red onions, peppers, mushrooms and kalbi sauce on a toasted onion baguette for $14.99. Entrées like a full rack of Baby Back Ribs, Haddock Crunch and Chips, Mushroom Ravioli, an assortment of salads, and a New York Strip or Sirloin steak ensure that there is something for every taste.
The bar has six beers on tap, eight by the bottle and a good assortment of wines and coolers, as well as a cocktail and martini menu. The Wendel martini is a concoction of Citrus Vodka, Hipnotiq and lemonade with a splash of Curacao.
