Vancouver International Busker Festival
The 2nd annual Vancouver International Buskers Festival as part of VIVA Vancouver on Granville Street takes place over the Canada Day long weekend. With over 150 shows from some of the world’s best street entertainers, the Festival celebrates both international and local buskers over three days.
The Festival brings together artists and spectators from all walks of life in the streets, where we might sometimes pass each other unnoticed. Whether people plan to pass by or do so unexpectedly, it is easy to see why people get drawn into a great busker's performances. Raw, uncensored, spontaneous and live, there is something for special about a street performance that you can't get anywhere else. From interactive comedy, hypnotic music and mind-blowing stunts and skills, there is something for everyone at this year's festival.
Prepare to be amazed by the talented and hypnotic artists coming from around Vancouver, from Canada and around the world, including: Basketball Jones, the amazing dribbling, spinning and juggling of up to five regulation size basketballs at one time athlete; Bendy Em, the Australian contortionist and comedian; Byron of England, the internationally renowned comedian, escape artist and juggler; and many more.
