Whale watching tours are very popular and the highlight for many who adventure out on the ocean to see what the West Coast of Canada has to offer. In the Victoria area, we have 3 resident pods that are usually seen from April to October along with Humpback and Gray whales who visit us in the winter months. Get up close and personal with these giants of the seas aboard family friendly vessels, or for the ocean adventurist, a ride aboard the zodiac offers an experience of a lifetime!
A short 2 block stroll up your block will bring you to the Royal Theatre, Vancouver Island’s premiere venue for many of the century’s great performers. The theatre opened its doors in 1913, and maintains its original Rococo/Renaissance Revival style décor. Check ticket and event listings here.

Cafes / Bakeries
More than just a café, Tre Fantastico features three of our favourite beverages: espresso, wine, and ale. Sitting adjacent to the historic St. Anne’s Academy in the Parkside Hotel, Tre Fantastico offers great food accompaniments & light meals with a focus on house-made products and local ingredients.
The Dutch Bakery was opened in 1955 by the Schaddelee family, who arrived from the Netherlands with recipes that have kept customers coming back for over 60 years. To this day, the bakery is run by the same family, and continues to make the same classic patisseries that made them famous half a century ago.
Blue Fox is a hip and happening little breakfast joint along Antique Row on Fort Street. Not your average greasy spoon diner, the Blue Fox serves up generous portions of the freshest, home-made comfort food for your soul. Organic, free-run, and local is the name of the game at the Blue Fox. Be prepared for a wait at the door – it is well worth it!
